I am now in the midst of my 3rd service call(). I bought this Sidekick refrigerator and matching freezer for our new home on 04/2014. I'd buy a new one and save myself the lost work but it doesn't appear they've fixed the reliability issues. Another service call and time off of work. Once the depressed area under the drawers fills with condensate it then has nowhere to go but out the front. The bottom of the seal doesn't seal tight causing condensation to build in the fridge. It takes only the slightest force to opened and must be pushed hard to ensure any seal. On top of what has already happened now,, it is leaking out the front and onto the floor. Totally devastated! We could NEVER possibly recommend Whirpool after all they have put us through. To date between, cost of build out, the units, loss of food and cost of repairs Whirpool Warranty wont pay for, we are out over $5000 to date. For this sum of $ we have never seen such poor quality of workmanship on the inside workings of appliances. No hopes of it being declared a lemon or hopes of getting any monies refund. This means by the time it takes to aquire 4 claims the warranty is expired therefore rendering it useless moving forward. If repair company they send to you guarantees their work for a certain period of time, say 90 days for example, you have to wait that full 90 days before you can file another claim. They keep sending people out under the same #. It = that we needed 4 seperate claim numbers before they could "consider" the unit a lemon. AIG kept telling us "it's in your contract, it's in your contract". So you have no recourse or hopes for getting a new frig or at least some of your $ refunded let alone the necessary repairs. They have loopholes in the warranty that prevent you from ever being able to declare the product a lemon. Shocking I know but the Whirpoool Warranty via AIG will NOT cover the cooling repairs needed to get our frig working. So disrespectful on the phone every time we called. AIG, who Whirpool uses for their warranties has the worst customer sevice we have ever experienced. Paid $400 for frig warranty that is useless. Alarm in freezer keeps going off throughout the day and just yesterday our refrigerator stopped cooling as well. Now stuck with a hole in our kitchen for a $3000+ refrigerator that doesnt work and a freezer alarm that wont stop going off.
